We’ve had another strong month of order intakes and enquiries in February!

Complimenting a nice amount of repeat work we have also taken on some very interesting projects outside our normal scope, such as vanity sink units for hotel refurbishments. And we can thankfully say that they are moving through the factory very nicely!

By taking on new challenges such as these we are not only able to improve our production capabilities and expand our customer base, but also further develop our teams engineering and project management abilities. All of which helps us stay at the forefront of high quality British manufacturing.

With two large vanity unit orders due out over the next couple of months we are keeping ourselves very busy! We have already produced some samples and they look fantastic! Even if we do say so ourselves.

At Brass Turned Parts we truly believe that it is always important to find new ways to innovate and develop our business. By constantly looking for ways in which we can improve we are able to continue offering our customers a great service and product at a competitive price. Our latest project has resulted in further investment in our ability to offer bespoke design to you, our customer.

By investing in this new technology we have introduced the ability to rapid prototype resin samples. This means we have progressed from purely being able to produce 3D computer images to being able to produce real world 3D resin samples. The advantage of this is that we are able to make several variations/alterations on a single design idea you may have very quickly, which offers you the advantage of being able to physically see whether the design you had in your head translates well to a physical product. It also offers you a much stronger perspective on individual features of your design,  from where you are able to decide upon which features are desirable and which are not from various different prototype ideas. The result of this information is a final design that is as good, if not better than you had envisaged.

We have already had plenty of positive feedback on how rapid prototyping has ironed out design floors early on before money was wasted in production! Some of these practical examples are detailed below:

• Increasing the extrusion of a pull handle as the original design did not give enough room to get a hand behind the pull comfortably.
• Increasing the length of the flat area on a knocker handle foot as the original designs taper caused friction between the knocker and the foot when in use. (the rapid prototype printer is capable of printing multiple moving parts!)
• Increased the size of a cupboard knob base as the original design looked out of proportion.
• Increased the flat on the front of a cupboard knob to allow for engraving.

Brass Turned Parts have made a solid start to the year, earning some big orders that promise to help provide a strong first quarter.

Along with strong general sales in January and a recorded breaking month for enquiries we have also won some special one off orders. Most notably for a few sizeable renovation projects, including the Grosvenor Hotel in London and the £24million renovation of the Waldorf Astoria in Edinburgh. So, with all this in the pipeline we begin February looking forward to a very busy few months;  just the way we like it!

It has been a busy start to 2012 for Brass Turned Parts and now it’s really starting to pay off.

We have had plenty of interesting enquiries come through our door in the last few weeks and now these are rapidly turning into sales. This week in particular we have had some very fruitful orders and, following these have been some exciting enquiries too. All giving us good cause for continued optimism.

This week has followed much the same pattern as the last, a healthy balance of orders and enquiries coming through to keep us very busy. With plenty of works orders to send to the factory and plenty of potential orders in the pipeline we can anticipate that we will remain busy for the foreseeable future, just how we like it!

There is an exciting week ahead for the export manager of our parent company Armac Martin who will be flying off to Manhattan tomorrow to spend the week seeing the sites and visiting some important customers.

In the spirit of the New Year, here at BTP we are helping to develop some new product ranges for our parent company Armac Martin.

Armac Martin, who have recently undergone a re-branding specialise in  high quality; UK manufactured handles, knobs, bolts, catches, castors, door knockers, hinges and just about any other type of furniture fitting you can think of!

Using our skilled team of designers, the latest technology to develop 3D models and our experienced engineers we are able to provide prototype design samples faster than ever before! Our new 3D rapid prototype printing machine enables us to allocate much more time to the design of new products. This new technology, along with our skilled design team greatly increases our ability to include customers from the earliest stage of production. Meaning the products that we produce for our customers are exactly what they require.

So with the first week of 2012 almost over we are well and truly back into the swing of things here at BTP. We’ve had some good orders come in so far, along with some encouraging enquires too.  Let’s hope this is a start of things to come and we can kick off the year with a successful January!

With a strong sales performance in 2011 here at BTP we really feel we have something to build on. We are certainly looking forward to working hard to make 2012 a good year! Though the outlook from Europe is a bleak one and the talk is of tough times ahead, we are confident that with the continuous improvement in our quality of service matched by the continuous improvement in quality of our product we can continue to see our sales figures grow.

November and December saw an encouraging number of enquiries come through that we are confident will come into fruition over the next few weeks. As well as record sales in 2011 we also saw a record number of new customers start dealing with us. This just goes to show that there certainly is still business to be found out there!

At Brass Turned Parts we are never content with what we do, no matter how good we may feel we are doing already, there is always room for improvement. So with this philosophy in mind we go into 2012 with continued investment in the latest prototyping technology and, by expanding our 3D modelling and design software we can accommodate our customer’s needs more effectively than ever before. Along with this we are also investing in technology to maximise our capacity and investing in people to get the most out of our team. By continuing customer service training as well as technical training courses we can only see our team’s ability to meet our customers’ expectations become even stronger.
